This week, we officially launched our Fall/Winter menu with a special VIP event. This year, the party was held at the beautiful Permanent building, one of our preferred venue partners. Our guests enjoyed a variety of offerings from our new menu, including Tequila Salmon on Cucumber Disc, Crap Claw Corn Dogs, platters, Sweet Potato Crème Brulée, Loaded Cinnamon Hot Chocolate and our Pho Station. It’s not too early thinking about the holiday season. Browse our menus to plan your next event! Thank you to Mark Yuen Visuals for producing this video of the evening.

Summer is our favourite time of year for BBQs and gathering with friends. A trend we are loving for weddings, parties and casual entertaining is putting together a burger bar to wow your guests. Our very own Shannon Boudreau has been featured in Real Weddings, where she shares our tips for creating gourmet burgers and your own burger bars at home. Watch the video to learn more and try out the recipe for our original Hangover Burger!
The Nanaimo Bar is a classic favourite on the West Coast and is one of the most popular desserts on our menu. Did you know that the Lazy Gourmet is known as the first company to commercially produce the bars? Montecristo Magazine has recently written a feature on the Nanaimo Bar and its rich history, click here to read the full article! Susan’s famous recipe has been one of our favourites since we opened in 1979. Keep reading to see the recipe and try it yourself at home.
It’s the middle of summer, which means that we have just wrapped up another Pride Cocktail Kickoff at the Loden Hotel. This year, we were pleased to support the 6th annual fundraiser, which raised $45,000 for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation!
The event has been featured in the Vancouver Courier, learn more here.

“While marveling of the city, ocean and mountain views from the panoramic roof top, business and community leaders, health advocates and social influencers heard from Dr. Helene Cote, a member of CANFAR’s Scientific Advisory Committee, to learn more of the firm’s efforts to eradicate the disease. After enjoying a variety of bites, drinks and live music, supporters would contribute more than $25,000 to the cause. ”
Last week, we were pleased to sponsor the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR)’s inaugural CANFAR Dinner in Vancouver. Held at the beautiful Telus Garden rooftop, we were proud to cater the event with a menu of internationally influenced canapés from our seasonal menus, including Korean spicy chicken on kimchi pancake, Italian meatball sliders, Spanish-style croquettes, and more.
Our GM Kevin Mazzone supported the inaugural Face The World Today Gala last week, which raised close to $1 million for a variety of charities. He has been featured among great company in a recent BCBusiness column by Paul Duchart.
“Over 26 years, Face the World has raised more than $17 million, which has been distributed to local charitable organizations with a focus on abused children and battered women, the hungry, the homeless and the elderly. Face of Today, founded in 2009, has raised more than one million dollars to support youth-based charities and programs throughout Vancouver.”
There is more to catering than the food—it’s about the whole experience. Our team worked closely with the team at The Cross Decor & Design recently to collaborate on a spring dinner with a desert rose theme. Read the post here.
From beautiful tablescapes of cacti and lush flowers, to macrame textures and pink hues, the room was beautifully transformed. The guiding theme was seen through all food and beverage choices, as well; the anchor of dessert was frosé (as in: frozen rosé). This slushy wine cocktail is not only pretty by nature, but also so simple and tasty that it will certainly appeal to all your summer party guests.
